The Memories Builder

The 'Memories Builder' is a tool at the service of heritage education, understood as a contribution to the critical conception of cultural identity and raising the awareness of participants with regard to valuing their tangible and intangible legacy, which constitutes their cultural heritage. It will be used in cultural measurement actions with the community - schools and associations of the municipality of Torres Novas, appealing to the active participation and strengthening the encounter between people, knowledge and memories. Inspired in the elements of the collection, the "memory builder" will be an innovative device, a design object, appealing and functional. It is also intended to be easily transportable and to ensure the safety of the objects it contains.

Based on the remaining CNFTTN estate, and its conservation and dissemination, the aim is to activate its interpretation as the identity heritage of a community. The actions to be developed with the community encourage participants to develop their own memories, assuming the multiplicity of narratives. These will be metaphorically materialized in a continuous thread that will be, throughout the successive actions, added to and wound.
